Since our recent move to Seattle, Washington,
Kids Knitwork
will not be
offering any summer camps this upcoming summer, 2013. I will update
this page if/when the situation changes. If you'd like to know about future plans and offerings, please
contact me and I'll add you to my
e-mailing list.
Kids Knitwork
is a place for children to explore and express
their creativity while learning a hip and useful skill. Here kids
learn to knit and love it, acquire some wet felting skills, learn to reclaim
old wool sweaters and make them into new masterpieces. We dye wool
roving and yarn and just have fun doing lots of fiber arts and crafts.
Knitting is recognized for improving
kids' concentration, dexterity and math skills, while building their
confidence and healthy self-esteem. It's been a required subject in Waldorf Education for
years, and is now catching on in schools around the country.
Check out this interesting
article from Education World
about the comeback of knitting and its perks.
